Realization of the ceilings in self-help housing
The realization of a ceiling is closely related to the style of decoration of the dwelling in the course of construction. It can be the under-face of the floor of the upper floor or a suspended ceiling making it possible to include an additional insulation and to pass from the sheaths difficult to dissimulate.
The ceiling is an important component of a part. Its functions are nombreuses :
- to diffuse by reflecting the light (indirect lighting),
- to take part in the decoration of the part,
- to return or on the contrary to deaden its product in the part,
- to support luminaries, suspensions, decorative pieces, etc,
- to thermically insulate the part compared to the higher level
Traditional ceiling
The realization of a plastered traditional ceiling or a tended ceiling is spring of the specialist. The manufacturer amateur will rather turn worms of easier materials to poser :- plasterboard to be painted,
- plank of pine,
- flagstones,
- frameworks tended of decorative fabric.
Hanging ceiling and suspended ceiling
If the rough height of the part allows it one will be able advantageously to use a metal structure made up of rails overhead using adjustable legs in length. One can thus adjust the flatness and the horizontality of the structure before fixing at it the plasterboard or the decorative plank.Space between the hanging ceiling and the under-face of the flagstone which supports it can be used to pass all kinds of gaines :
- of ventilation if their diameter is not too large,
- electric - for the lighting of the part or distribution on the ground of the upper floor,
- heating,
- water supply.
Space can also be filled of an insulating material (glass wool.), at least along the external walls to fight against the cold bridges. This insulating material also takes part in the soundproofing between the stages.
At the time of the installation, to note on a plan the passage of all the drains, the position of the electric boxes of derivation…
Visible beams
In modest constructions of formerly one left connect the structure of the floor (joisting) of the upper floor, by measurement of economy. This tradition is become again of topicality there is about thirty years with the fashion of the “ rustique ”.Today the use of wood as structural component makes that one meets visible beams which are not only decorative. They are generally in pine or spruce, sometimes out of lamellate-stuck wood, height ranging between 12 and 20 cm and of 8 with 10 cm thickness and length seldom higher than 3 meters. Planed or sandpapered, they can be painted, tinted, varnished, waxed or sometimes finely decorated. A dark color will obscure even more the part where they are.
The ceiling that they support can be made up of little curls (grooved wood blades) painted or simply tinted) or of agglomerated wood panel or plasterboards painted or covered with a wallpaper covered with a fabric of decoration.
