The Real Madrid Castilla Club of Fútbol is a club of Spanish Football which plays in Segunda Division B , the third Spanish division. It is also the reserve team of the Real Madrid which plays its home matches with the Stade Alfredo Di Stéfano.

History

The reserve of the Real Madrid was created in 1943 under the name of Plus Ultra . In 1972, the team takes the name of Castilla . But in 1991, the Spanish Federation prohibited with the teams holds to use a name different from the team first and Castilla CF must be famous in Real Madrid B . In 2005, the increase in the second division makes it possible the team to become again the Real Madrid Castilla .

At the time of the season 1979-1980, Real Madrid Castilla is finalist of the Coupe of Spain of football vis-a-vis its team first, which enables him to take part in the Coupe of Europe of the winners of cut, a first for a team holds.

Bonds with the team first

The reserves teams of the Spanish clubs are registered in the pyramidal structures of the football league just like their teams first. However the reserves teams can reach neither the the first division, nor with the Coupe of the King.
