The pennsilfaanisch ( Pennsilfaanisch-Deitsch' , Pennsilfaani-Deitsch ) is a language (or dialect of High-German) minority spoken in certain areas with the the United States (Pennsylvania, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, etc) and with the Canada (Ontario).

He is spoken by the communities Mennonites and Amish, which is originating in the Palatinat, about the German-speaking Switzerland and the Alsace and which preserved the spoken language during their emigration. However, the speakers all are not of the members of these communities. There is approximately: 300000 speakers, of which: 200000 are amish or mennonites of the old order. The amish and the mennonites of the old order use the language, even nowadays, in their daily life.

The New Testament was translated into pennsilfaanisch in 1993.
