Raymond of Puy
Raymond of Puy , born in 1080, died in 1160
It is of a noble family of the Dauphiné, which has as a cradle the ground of Peyrins close to Valence.
It is the third wire of Hugues of Puy which took the cross in 1096 with its 3 sons and was in Palestine one of the most valiant captains.
Raymond of Puy was the second chief about the Hospitaliers of Midsummer's Day of Jerusalem. He succeeded in 1120 Pierre-Gerard of Martigues, teacher of the order, and made a military order of it.
Of simple hospital that it was, it establishes the division of the members in three rows (knights, being useful and chaplains), and was illustrated with the head of its knights by its exploits and took Ascalon in 1153.
