Raymond de Saussure was born in 1894 with Geneva where he died in 1971. He was the son of Ferdinand de Saussure, the Linguiste. He studied the Médecine in his city and with Zurich, made its formation of Psychiatrie to Paris, with Vienna then with Berlin. First analysis with Freud and second with Franz Alexander with Berlin. It was - with Odier - one of the founders of the psychoanalytical Société of Paris and one of the pioneers of the diffusion of the ideas of Freud in France and French-speaking Switzerland. He became member of the Swiss Société of Psychoanalysis. Of return of a stay to New York in 1952, it became with Michel Gressot one of those which developed the psychoanalysis in French-speaking Switzerland while keeping close links with France. It was also one of the founders of the FEP (European Federation of psychoanalysis) in 1966.
