Raymond Ramazani Baya

Raymond Ramazani Baya , born the June 17th 1943, was the Foreign Minister and of the International cooperation in the transition government of the Democratic republic of Congo of the July 22nd 2004 with the February 6th 2007.

Ramazani was for a long time member of the Popular movement of the Revolution (MPR) under Mobutu, more particularly as Ministre for Information and ambassador in France of 1990 with 1996. In 1996, it was implied in an car accident causing the death of two child. He resigned of his post of ambassador.

Following the fall of Mobutu in 1997, Ramazani became dissatisfied with the new government set up for Laurent-Desired Kabila. It joint the Liberation movement of Congo (MLC), a rebel group based with Gbadolite, directed by Jean-Pierre Bemba. In 2003, the MLC entered the transition government with other rebel groups and the government of Joseph Kabila. Bemba becomes vice-president and with the capacity to name the Foreign Minister, posts that it gives to Antoine Ghonda. Ramazani replaces it when this one is dislocated of these functions in 2004.
