Raymond Macherot is a Belgian author of cartoon born with Verviers (Belgium) the March 30th 1924.
He entered to the Journal of Tintin in 1952. In 1953, it creates the character of Chlorophylle , the lérot which, with its comparses the mouse Minimum and the Torpille otter, leads the hard life to the black rats directed by Anthracite. After having created the character of the Father the Swell in 1956, it gives birth three years later to the colonel Clifton.
In 1964, Macherot leaves the newspaper Tintin for '' Spirou '' and creates there, successively, the characters of Chaminou and Sibylline. In the continuation, he collaborates with the scenario writers Goscinny and Cauvin; with them are born Pantoufle then Mirliton.
