Raymond Garneau

Raymond Garneau (1935-) is a politician and a Canadian business man.

Native of Plessisville, it studied with the Collège Mount-Saint-Louis and the Université Laval, where it taught the economy. He was one of the secretaries of the liberal Fédération of Quebec and became the adviser of Jean Lesage when this one was in the opposition vis-a-vis Daniel Johnson.

Liberal deputy of 1970 with 1978, he was Minister for the public office, Minister for Finance, Minister for education and president of the council of the treasure under Robert Bourassa. During the Years 1980, he is president various councils of funds and finance companies, of which Industrielle Alliance. He was briefly leader of the Liberal party in 1987 - 1988.
