Raymond Couderc

Raymond Couderc is a Politician French born on September 16th 1946 with Bordeaux. He is currently senator-mayor of Béziers and Regional adviser.

University career

Professor of the universities in geography, author of a thesis of State on the high Oranian steppes, cooperating in Algeria for the ministry for agriculture in the Seventies, it initially taught with the Université of Algiers, then with the Université Toulouse II and finally with the Université Montpellier III, where it directs the die of rural development, before taking his retirement in 2004.

He is also secretary of the UMP federation of the Herault, whose deputy Paul-Henri Cugnenc was the president.

Economic policies

Its principal achievements on a municipal scale are the reorganization of the crossroads of Hours (with a project of commercial arcade denounced by the left opposition as calling into question the revitalization of the downtown area), the support with the development of the university center Of Guesclin, the creation of Fèsta d' Oc (festival occitan) which is held each year mid-July, and the embellishment of the downtown area (Allées Paul Riquet, street of the Republic).
