Ray Barbuti

Raymond J. " Ray" Barbuti , born the June 12th 1905 and deceased the July 8th 1988, was a American football player and American Athlète , victorious of two gold medals to the Olympic Games of summer of 1928 out of 400 m and in relays 4 X.400 m.

Ray Barbuti was born in the county from Nassau in the state from New York and studied with the Université of Syracuse where it gained, in 1928, title IC4A on 400 m in 48" 8 and marked eight Touchdown in only one match. The same year, he became also champion AAU on 400 m in 51" 4.

Its trainer did not let it run his two preferred distances, the 200 yard and the 400 yard, that seldom in the same competition. Thus Barbuti chooses to run that the 400 m to the Olympic Games of Amsterdam. It gained the title in 47" 8 and like relay runner in the American team, it gained one second gold medal out of the 4 X.400 m by establishing world records into 3 ' 14" 2.

Ray Barbuti is deceased with Canaan, New York at the 83 years age.
