Biography

Creation

After having left the group London, the bass player Nikki Sixx meets the beater Tommy Lee (then beater of the group Suite 19).

They decide to found a group, and find by the means of a classified the guitarist Mick Mars, who will find the name " Mötley Raw " (which means " literally; Equip bariolée"). The group seeks a singer then, and lorgne on a friend of college of Tommy Lee, Vince Neil, but the latter refuses to leave its group Rockandy, until this one separates. The members of Mötley Crüe decide to recontact it, and Vince Neil then agrees to pass hearing and to integrate the group.

Beginnings

The group is quickly made a reputation through the clubs of Los Angeles, and is surrounded of the manager Allan Coffman. They leave a first album on their own label Leathür Records, coldly created, as of November 1981: Too Fast for Coils , which is sold with 20.000 specimens.

One year later, the group indicates Doc. McGhee and Doug Thaler as managers and sign at Elektra Records, which arises Too Fast for Love , in remixée version.

Success

The group, with which the Eighties will be synonymous with glory, will mark the spirits not only by its music, but also by its provocante attitude: with their vestimentary style, but also by an important consumption of Drug and alcohol.

In 1983, they record Shout At the Devil , their most famous album. One year later, Vince Neil passes very close to death, after a serious car accident, caused by a driving under influence of intoxication. Its passenger, Razzle Dingley (beater of the group Hanoi Rock'n'rolls) will die a few hours later. Vince draws some with a little prison, a few work hours of general interest, and a fine. A detoxification therapy is followed from there. It is at this period that the group is fixed like rule, to avoid drinking during the round. Any contravener having to pay the moderate amount of 25.000$. During this round, Mötley Crüe takes an international statute by making the first parts of Iron Maiden and Ozzy Osbourne.

Their third album Theater off Bread leaves in 1985. It contains success “Home Sweet Home” which is also their first ballade. In 1987, Nikki Sixx lack to die of a double overdose of Heroin, but that does not prevent the band from leaving their fourth album Girls, Girls, Girls the same year which is a business success. At the time of this round the public can see the battery of Tommy Lee rising and turning on it even to the top of the spectators.

The way of life unslung of the members of Mötley Crüe misses putting in danger the group, and their managers thus will impose detoxification therapies to them. Wise and paying decision, since the fifth album Dr.Feelgood (1989) will be a success without precedent, marking the apogee of their career. This disc, is classified 1st charts as of the first week of its exit. Nevertheless, the same year, Doc. McGhee is isolated management of the group.

Decline of the Nineties

In February 1992, Vince Neil leaves the group (according to certain rumors, the group saw of an evil eye the fact that it spends most clearly its time has its pastime which is the racing racing car]). It is replaced by John Corabi the same year.

In 1994 the group leaves Mötley Crüe , which will be sold definitely less than its predecessor.

Raw Mötley not being Mötley Not believed without Vince Neil, this one will return in 1997 to record Generation Swine , which will be despite everything a commercial failure.

In 1998, their contract with Elektra Records ends what founds the doubt within the group. One year later, Tommy Lee leaves the group at the end of the round Generation Swine to continue a career solo; it will be replaced by Randy Castillo.

The Nineties were remembered by the difficulties for Mötley Crüe, in particular with the death, of the continuations of a cancer, the girl of Vince Neil, and the 6 months spent in prison by Tommy Lee because of its violent attitude towards Pamela Anderson, her ex-wife.

The years 2000

In 2000, the group leaves New Tattoo with Randy Castillo which marks to him also a failure on the level of the number of sold albums. Unfortunately, Randy Castillo being seriously sick, it will not ensure the round and will be replaced by Samantha Maloney (ex-threshing-machine of Hole), and will die a few months afterwards, the March 26th 2002, of the continuations of a cancer

In 2001, the members of Mötley Crüe publish an autobiography: The Dirt .

The group is at this put time on side by its members who prefer to devote themselves to their career solo and their activities in other groups (Methods off Mayem for Tommy Lee; .58 and Supports off Destruction for Nikki Sixx).

But fine 2004, the group is reformed in its original formation to record a compilation: Red, White & Raw , containing new pieces, and which will be followed of a world tour in 2005 which marks their return it on the front of the scene rock'n'roll.
