Rauret is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Loire and the area Auvergne.

Geography

History

  • the Château of Jonchères was the seat of a baronnie of Velay. With the wire of the centuries, the baronnie which replaced Viguerie lost of its extent, but remained important. Until the Revolution, it was one of the 18 Baronnies Diocésaines which gave to their lord the right to sit at the particular States of the Velay.
  • the communes of Jagonas and Jonchères were joined together in Rauret in 1832.
