Ratko Mladić
Ratko Mladić (transliterated in French: Ratko Mladitch ), born the March 12th 1942 with Bozinovici (common of Kalinovik - State independent of Croatia, today Bosnia-Herzégovine), was the commander-in-chief of the army of the Serb République of Bosnia (VRS) during the Guerre of Bosnia between 1992 and 1995. He is shown of Génocide, of complicity in the Génocide, of Crimes against humanity and of violations of the laws and habits of the war by the International penal court for ex-Yugoslavia (TPIY).
Youth
Ratko Mladić was born with Bozinovici (today in Bosnia-Herzégovine), in 1942, whereas this locality were located at the time in the State independent of Croatia, a satellite State of the Third Reich created after the invasion and the dismemberment of the Royaume of Yugoslavia in 1941. His/her father, who belongs to the movement of the Partisans of Tito, is killed by the Oustachis during spring 1945, right before the end of the Second world war.
When it was small, the Ratko young person wanted to become teaching, at 11 years it wanted to become surgeon and it ended up engaging in the military career within the Yugoslav popular Army (JNA).
Military career
Endowed officer, it follows a fast career. The dislocation of the Yugoslavia and the wars of Yugoslavia which result mark from it a turning in its life.
Beginnings of the military career
Ratko Mladić between at the militaro-industrial School of Zemun in 1961. After that, it is allowed with the Military academy then with the Academy of the officers which it leaves graduate, in 1965, with the mention " remarquable".
Its first assignment in so much of officer (second lieutenant) is with Skopje, where he is the youngest soldier of the unit which he directs. It appears like an able officer and it orders various units until dealing with battalion then brigade. In 1989, it is named chief of the service " Militaire" preparation; 3rd military region of Yugoslavia.
The war of Bosnia
In June 1991, Mladić was named with Knin ordering ninth body of the Armée popular Yugoslavian (JNA), during the engagements between the Croatian JNA and forces. October 4th, 1991, it was promoted Brigadier general. The April 24th 1992, Mladić was promoted with the Major general row of and the April 25th 1992, it is named chief of assistant staff of the general headquarter of the second military district of the JNA with Sarajevo. It takes its function the May 9th. The May 12th 1992, a " Serb assembly of Bosnie" vote the creation of a " Armed with the Serb Republic of Bosnia-Herzégovine " (VRS), whose Mladić takes the command until the December 22nd 1996 at least. The June 24th 1994, on order of Slobodan Milošević, staff management of the Armed with Yugoslavia (VJ), its true membership, the pupil with the row of lieutenant-general of army.
In 1995, the International penal court for ex-Yugoslavia accused Ratko Mladić of Génocide, of complicity in the genocide, Crimes against humanity, and violations of the laws and habits of the war.
Always fugitive, it is suspecté to hide either in Serbia, or in Serb République of Bosnia with the complicity of the army and the police force local.
A dispatch of Reuters of July 19th, 2006 revealed that it would have hidden in Belgrade in a studio of the suburbs of 2002 in January 2006 .
Ratko Mladić and the TPIY
February 22nd, 2006 newspapers of Serbia Knell Javnosti and Blic , and the Serb newspaper of Bosnia Nezavisne Novine (Banja Luka) announce that Ratko Mladić would be in sure place negotiating its rendering. Information however is contradicted by the government spokesman of Serbia-and-Montenegro, Srđan Đurić, which denounces one handling which undermines the government , like by the spokesperson of the prosecutor of the TPIY, Carla Del Ponte which criticizes it media fad .
The June 23rd 2006, the newspaper Kurir which quotes a " source; well informée" , affirms that Ratko Mladić would have been victim of a Brain attack and that it would be in a critical condition. This information could not be confirmed or contradicted. The government did not make any comment.
The May 31st 2007, a Serb former general, near to Ratko Mladic, was stopped at the border between Serbia and the Republika Srpska , the Serb entity of Bosnia-Herzégovine.
This started again the debate on the arrest of Ratko Mladic, which can make think that it is always in life.
