The raspberry is the Fruit Framboisier ( Rubus idaeus ), a Arbrisseau of the rosacée family of the S.
Description
This fruit consists of a dozen tiny fruits (of the Drupe S) filled with pulp and containing each one a Graine. The drupes are covered with microscopic hairs, which gives to raspberry its velvety aspect.
The raspberry cane naturally forms a tuft whose branches are renewed annually by emission of new rejections. The multiplication is done by these marbled suckers which are generally planted with the autumn.
On the going up varieties a first small fructification is done as of the first year; but going up or not-going up, great fructification is done on the branches of the previous year, which after fructification, are desiccated and died.
