The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is a nationalist movement in India which is based on the principles of the Hindutva. It was founded in 1925 by Dr. K.B. Hedgewar, which admired and met Benito Mussolini. The organization was declared illegal in 1948 following the assassination of Mohandas Gandhi by Nathuram Godse, a former member of the RSS, and was again authorized the following year.
