Rashid Behbudov

Rashid Behbudov (December 14th 1915 - June 19th 1988) was a singer and actor Azerbaïdjan board. He sang in Azeri, Russian, Persan, Turkish, Armenian, Hindi, Bengali Ourdou and .

Born with Tbilissi, Georgia, he worked with philarmonic and the opera of Erevan between 1938 and 1944. He went in Azerbaïdjan after the invitation of Tofig Guliyev in 1945. He became popular when he played the main role of Askar , the travelling commercial rich person in the film Arshin Mal Alan (" The hawker of vêtements") who was based on a musical comedy of Uzeyir Hajibeyov of 1913. His/her father, Madjid Behbudov was him also a famous singer.

He sang and played in several countries: the the United Kingdom, the Finland, the Iran, the Turkey, the Popular republic of China, the Albania, the Belgium, the Ethiopia, the India, the Iraq, the Chile and the Argentinian .

In Azerbaïdjan, its name is dependant the history of the popular music Azeri. Its works evoke a diversity of feelings, since proud anthems dedicated to the Motherland until lyric confessions of love.

In 1966, he created the Theater of song soloist and becomes his soloist and artistic director.
