Raphaël of Mans
Raphaël of the mans , born Jacques Dutertre in 1613 with the Mans, deceased in 1696 with Ispahan, was a monk French capuchin and traveller. He resides of 1647 at his death in Perse, where he directs a convent. Officiating for this long period as translator for the majority of the European embassies near the kings Safavides, his important correspondence constitutes an invaluable source making it possible to better know the relations between occident and Persia at the 17th century.
