Raoul de Coligny

Marie Auguste Donat Raoul de Pillot of Chenecey , count and marquis of Coligny , baron de Beaupont & Beauvoir, Montjuif, Roissiat, Chevignat, Under-the-House and the Turn-the-Coligny, count of the Holy roman Empire, count de Hornebourg, count of Sponeck-in-Brisgau.

Born on January 4th, 1846 with the castle from Cherishes. Died at 71 years on February 4th, 1917, and buried with Choye

Chief of the House of Pile (all confused branches), and chief of the House of Coligny (reunified with the branch of Pile of Chenecey). In other words: chief of the reunified houses of Coligny and Pile of Chenecey

  • Chambellan intimates His Holiness, knight and commander of the pontifical order of New Year's Eve and the gilded Militia, knight about the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, knight of Malta, officer of the equestrian order of San Marino.

  • During the Franco-German War of 1870: volunteer at 18 years, second lieutenant on August 9th, 1870 with the 41e of line; took share in 1870 with all the combat delivered under Metz and was made prisoner. He refused the freedom which the enemy in exchange of the commitment of honor offered to him more not to be useful throughout war, not wanting to separate its fate from that of its troop, and was interned in Saxony, with Weissenfels-on-the-Saale.

  • On its return of captivity, it reinstated the 41e line (in garrison in Meudon), and it was promoted lieutenant (March 3rd, 1873) with the 21e battalion of hunters to foot (with Belfort 1873-75 then with Montbeliard), then with the 3rd battalion of hunters to foot with Besancon (1876). Proposed for the rank of captain, he resigned in 1877 for reasons for personal suitability, and on March 16th, 1878, 32 years old, took the command of a battalion to the 57e territorial regiment of infantry (with Auxonne), until 1888.
