Ramsès IV

Ramsès V is the third Pharaon Nouvel Empire of the ancient Egypt. Although it is generally considered that Ramsès V was the son of Ramsès {{III}}, there is not a certainty allowing to affirm that it was the elder one. He becomes Pharaon at the fourteen years age, and reigned of the surroundings from -1153 to -1146 (of other sources give from -1154 to -1148 or -1164 to -1158).

After its death, Ramsès V was buried in the Vallée of the Kings (fall KV2).

Ramsès V undertook many constructions, doubling manpower of workmen with Deir el-Médineh to 120 men, ordered forwardings until the careers of Wadi Hammamat and the the Sinai. However, the Pharaon died before seeing his accomplished goals.

The Papyrus Harris is the most important document of the life of Ramsès V which reached us: he partly reports the life of his father Ramsès {{III}}. Another essential document is the Papyrus of Turin, the oldest known geological map.
