Ramnulf Ier of Poitiers

Ramnulf or Ramnulfe Ier of Poitiers , born towards 820 and dead the September 15th 866, was count de Poitiers of 839 with 866, duke of Aquitaine of 845 with 866 and abbot of Saint-Hilaire of 841 with 866.

He is the son of the count, Gerard and of Hildegarde, girl of Louis the Piles, abbess of the Midsummer's Day abbey of Laon.

He marries Bilchilde, a Rorgonide, girl of Rorgon, count of Maine. Before marrying Ramnulf Ier, Bilchilde was widowed of Bernard of Poitiers, brother of Émenon of Poitiers.

He dies of an arrow Viking with the Bataille of Brissarthe. One is unaware of who succeeds to him exactly, it seems that Bernard de Gothie took the county under its cut.
