The Ralph Wilson Stadium (before Rich Stadium and called The Ralph ) is a stage of American football located has Orchard Park, in suburbs of Buffalo in the state of New York. Since 1973, it is the playing field of the Bills de Buffalo which evolve/move in NFL in division AFC. Its capacity is of 73.967 places including 164 continuations of luxury and 6.878 seats of club. It is surrounded by a carpark of 12.000 places.

History

It cost 22 million dollars US and was drawn by the architects of HNTB. It belongs to the county of Érié.

Playing field of the Bills de Buffalo for almost thirty years, the Ralph Wilson Stadium has undergone many changes during the years. In 1959, the town of Buffalo was allotted of a frankness NFL, created and had by Ralph Wilson. The team started to play in 1960 with the War Memorial Stadium . The War Memorial Stadium was a small stage being composed of roughly 30.000 seats. In 1965, the capacity of the stage was increased up to 46.000 places. However, towards the end of the year 1960, the owner of the Bills, Ralph Wilson wanted a new stage for its team. After proposals were approved to build a new stage, a ground of 130 acres surface was bought to build the stage. Construction began the April 4th 1972. Once the stage was accomplished in 1973, Rich Products Corporation bought the rights of name $1,5 million USD over 25 years, of this fact it bore the name of Rich Stadium . The Bills became one of the first teams to sell the rights of name of their stage. In 1998, the stage was retitré Ralph Wilson Stadium .

The Bills de Buffalo played their first match at the stage the August 17th 1973. The stage is composed of three lines of blue and red seats. In 1984, the capacity of the stage climbed up to 80.024 places with the addition of 16 continuations, and in 1992, when 24 continuations were added. Since 1999, the capacity is reduced to 73.967 places, following restorations of $63 million USD having for goal to give places of higher quality. The restorations included the addition of 76 continuations and seats of club. The Ralph Wilson Stadium continues to be one of the best stages of NFL.

During the summer 2007, a new display board Mitsubishi LED High-definition is installed (dimensions in feet: 88.8 ' out of 32.5 '). The total costs of the project are of $5,2 million USD. The new giant screen replaces old the Sony JumboTron (dimensions in feet: 41.5 ' out of 31.5 ') which was installed 13 years front.
