Ralph Moore

Ralph Moore is a Pépiniériste American rosierist , specialist in the pink miniature which has just celebrated its 100 years in 2007.

Biography

Still high-school pupil, of 1920 to 1927, it began the culture and of the experiment of Hybridation of pinks. He creates the Sequoia Nursery .

In 1935, Ralph Moore, nursery gardener with Visalia, in California, see for the first time a miniature pink, “Roulettii”. Its interest for the miniatures starts, he undertakes hybridizations with “Tom Pouce” and “Ruby of Oakington”. He develops a certain number of varieties which wake up the interest for the miniature pinks.

“Zee” will be the relative many varieties of miniature pinks, on the 300 created by Ralph Moore.

After the miniatures, Ralph Moore was interested in the mixed pinks, striped.

For its 100 years in 2007, it markets two new hybrids of persica of Hulthemia red-dark shandy, a new striped variety of will grandiflora , “Ballet of sequoia”, and red “Painted with the hand” “Hope and joy”, and pink and white two-tone minis “pink Torsion”.
