Ralf König

Ralf König , born the August 8th 1960 with Soest (Westphalia), is a German draftsman of Cartoons . Its humorous accounts have homosexual protagonists.

Ralf König starts to publish in 1979. In 1981, it publishes Schwulcomics - in France: Merry Comix , 1987, ED. Associated Pirates. He studies, of 1981 with 1986 in KunstAkademie of Düsseldorf. In 1987, it publishes DER bewegte Mann ( the New Guys ), which will return it definitively celebrates. Adapted for the big screen in 1994, DER bewegte Mann will be one of greatest public successes of the German cinema. Will be also adapted: Kondom of Grauens ( the hood which kills ) in 1996, Wie die Karnickel ( Like rabbits ) in 2002 and Lisístrata , also in 2002. The album As of the rabbits ( Wie die Karnickel ) obtains in 2005 the Prix of the scenario of the festival of cartoons of Angouleme.

The work of Ralf König is at the same time light and without taboos. It rests on comedy situation - one is often in the register of the light comedy. Its characters are well camped and attaching. Behind the folding screen of the Humor, Ralf König evokes essential topics such as the acceptance of the difference or the relationship between men and women and homosexual and heterosexuals.

Translation

All its work published at Glénat was translated by Fabrice Ricker, a fan of bédé since his more young age, living Germany and regarding Ralf König as being an great author of humor.

It is besides one of the reasons for which it decided to translate it: to promote a certain fringe of humor (of good humor) coming from Germany. The frequent use of footnotes explaining the company of beyond the rhine in is a consequence.
