Rakı

The rakı , called “milk of lion familiarly” ( aslan sütü in Turkish) is a Turkish Eau-de-vie of Raisin aromatized with the Anis. It is generally consumed lengthened water, sometimes “dryness”. Note the absence of point on the I of rakı (which must decide like a E final French and not like a I ).

The service is generally made in two glasses of cylindrical form, one containing the rakı , the other water and the ice, or sometimes, in particular in the area of the Aegean Sea, the “ şalgam suyu ” juice of beet spiced.
