The raisinier of China ( Hovenia dulcis ) is a species of Arbre rustic originating in Asia (Japan, Is China, Korea and up to 2000 m of altitude in the the Himalayas) which was introduced like ornamental tree into many countries.

Description

The tree can measure up to 12 meters in height on 7 broad. It pushes badly in the shade and needs sun and a wet ground good drained for good to develop.

Its bark gray clearly fissures in long thin straps.

Its Feuille S cordiformes brilliant from 10 to 15 cm length is null and void.

Its Fleur S Hermaphrodite S is laid out in Inflorescence S white scented mature in July whose Pédoncule S are edible vintages or cooked. They resemble grains of Raisin sweetened and scented but with a taste of Poire.

They contain 11,4% of Glucose, 4,7% of Fructose, 12% of Saccharose, 15% of Protéine S and 7,8% of Lipide S.

Use

An extract of its Graine S can be used like a substitute of Miel.

One extracts from his sheets a product named Hodulcine, principle selective decreasing sweetened savor.
