Rairies
Rairies is a common French, located in the department of Maine-et-Loire and the area Pays of the Loire.
Geography
Rairies are located at the border of Maine and the Loire, since to a few kilometers extend the Sarthe-native territories. With 40 kilometers of Angers, this village is a peaceful place not far from the town life, where one can ressourcer quietly.
History
The village of Rairies is an old village where the men came to extract the stone, hones white harder than the stone of tuffaut (which was in particular used to build the Academy of Arrow 72 and many other monuments).Thereafter, it is the manufacture of the brick which succeeded the extraction of the stone. Moreover this tradition is always of topicality since the common one counts four more companies of brickyard today. This activity with, since always, made live its population and thanks to it Rairies could become a village with whole share with its administration and even its church built with the nineteenth century.

Places and monuments
The commune of Rairies conceals natural and pleasant places! the walkers will be able to discover there the forest of Chambiers with its ponds and its long excursions.Danc the center one cannot neglect the furnaces and barns, marks of the last brick-maker of the village. The Hook, old drier, marvelously preserved, deserves a turning. It functions still today of the Ascension Day with St Michel, if you pass in the area stop a few minutes near this giant furnace!
In the middle of the village, the church, dating from the nineteenth century, dominates the place of the village and its tradesmen.
When one ventures close to the Dormouse, one can admire, at the border of Durtal, an old vault, the Vault of Chalou.
