Raiponce (plant)

The raiponces are long-lived herbaceous plants of the kind Phyteuma pertaining to the family of the Campanulacée S.

They are plants with the sheets Cordiforme S or lancéolées, the basal petiolate ones, with the not ramified stems, carrying a dense ear inflorescence or at the head globulous above a flange of Bractée S. the flowers are small, partly tubular, with free cheesecloths.

The kind includes/understands approximately 45 species mainly in Europe and in the west of the Asia.
