Raincoat

The raincoat (of Spanish gabardina meaning Justaucorps, crossing degabán, cardigan, and tavardina, jacket) is the name of a fabric of Coton of worked and very tight armor, relatively Imperméable with the air and water.

It was created by Thomas Burberry in 1880 whereas he met a shepherd of his area whose jacket was made impermeable by the product used at the time of the baignage of the Mouton S. He deposits the patent in of it 1888, which allows of it him exclusive manufacture until in 1917.
Currently many coats of rain are worked in this materials where they take of it the name of burberries in England and raincoat in France.

The Councils of use of the raincoat

Cut

It is essential to wash as a preliminary a raincoat into pure Coton, in order to avoid the more or less important fabric withdrawals, according to the ennoblement which it underwent. A raincoat in Laine combed will have passed by again as a preliminary with the vapor. And for all these qualities, it is recommended to unfold fabric before cutting it, and eliminating the folding from fabric by sharpening. If this one does not disappear, to cut the parts out of this folding

The carryforward of the lines of seam

The raincoat supports perfectly the caster with owners and paper copy-seam. To defer the layouts only on the back of fabric, while following the indications of the manufacturer.

Sharpening

The temperature of the iron is according to quality. A pure cotton will have passed by again on adjustment 2 to 3 points (preferably with the vapor), the wool and the wool mixed on adjustment 2 points, with the vapor.

To avoid glossing fabric, covering the place with a leg-damping. The synthetic raincoats and comprising élasthanne can tolerate only one moderate temperature (2 points to the maximum).

The entoilage

For the light fabrics and the small parts, like a parementure and a top of collar, like for fabrics not being able to be passed by again with the vapor, to choose Vliesline G785 or H180. For the heavier fabrics, out of wool or mixed wool, to choose Vliesline G700 or H410.

The realization

To use a Needle standard, size 70 or 80 and a Sewing thread standard, in Polyester, to sew the raincoat. The raincoat Microfibre, which is characterized by a dense weaving, will be bent with a needle Microtex, size 70. The length of the points is according to the quality of fabric: for a fine fabric, to make small points (approximately 2mm length), for looser or thicker fabrics, to prick of the points from approximately 2,5 with 3mm.

Maintenance

Maintenance depends on fibers: cottons, synthetic or mixed fibers can be washed until 40° in program for delicate linen, cottons until 60°. It is preferable to make clean dry the Blazer S, coats and Costume S as well as clothing in wool raincoat, because washing would be likely to deform them.
