Rainbow Warrior

The Rainbow Warrior is the boat emblem of Greenpeace.

The name of the boat comes from a history of tradition indigenous of North America, evoking one time when the cupidity of the men would lead the world to its loss and where the warriors of the rainbow (Rainbow Warriors) would come to save it.

Rainbow Warrior, first of the name

The Rainbow Warrior on the way towards the atoll of Moruroa to protest against the French Nuclear tests was cast in New Zealand in 1985 in an attack of the French secret services which started the Affaire of Rainbow Warrior.

Second Rainbow Warrior

New the Rainbow Warrior is old a Chalutier, the Grampian Fame repurchased in 1987 by Greenpeace. After important work it took the sea the July 10th 1989, the day of the fourth birthday of the shipwreck of the first ship.

Work consisted in offering a capacity of lodging higher than that which the trawler offered. Moreover, three masts were added to him in order to obtain a mixed, diesel propulsion and veils.
