Raimund Krumme

Raimund Krumme is a stimulating German, having studied in particular with Los Angeles, the United States of America where he was professor with the California Institute off the Arts. In several of its films, the visual aspet, and the play with the points of sights, the prospect, the laws of physical mechanics and the representation, have an important place there.

In the Equilibrists or the crossroads, the characters evolve/move around a simple form (respectively a rectangle and the crossing of 2 ways). These simple forms change significance, according to the positions of the characters, and their shadows.

Raimund Krumme, makes a point all the same of saying that to say that its work would be limited to a play of prospect would be an error of comprehension.

In the Spectators, a crowd in a theater, moves with the sandstone of the emotions, resembling certain moments with diagrams of flow, the emotions of the ones acting on the emotions of the others.

In Passage 2 characters must cross ice, one finds here partially the plays of “the Equilibrist” or “the Crossroads”, with the ice which breaks, and the drainage ducts on the surface of the ice of the characters.

A retrospective was devoted to him to the festival of Auch, in April 2005.
