Raimon

Ramon Pelegero Sanchis , more known under the name of Raimon , was born with Xàtiva (Costera, Valencian Communauté, Spain) on December 2nd, 1940, in the street called to square Blanc , street which it quotes in several of its songs.

At 18 years, it composes Al Wind, true hymn to liberty, become symbol of anti-Francoism.

Singing in Catalan, it is then prohibited by the capacity. It takes part all the same on May 18th, 1968 in a concert with the faculty of political sciences and economic of Madrid. In remembering this historical concert, he sings in " 18 of maig to the villa" that " that which felt freedom has more force for vivre".

It is, with Lluís Llach, one of the principal representatives of the Catalan Nova Cançó.
