Railway wheel
The railway wheels are Roue S full in forged steel or cast steel which one can differentiate in two main categories: cast solid wheels and wheels with brought back binding. Binding perhaps out of hard steel or more rarely pneumatic. Other important aspects of the wheels of the railway Rolling stock are the roll of wheel like their exactly calculated geometrical form.
The railway wheels are generally interdependent of the Essieu, also out of steel, on which they are fixed in force. The unit forms a “assembled axle”, assembly which guarantees the solidity of the unit and the respect of the spacing. It also makes it possible by the contact with the steel rails to close the circuits track used for the indication. The ends of the axles, or fused, located outside the wheels, are committed in “axle boxes”, with bearing (friction) or on the modern material with rollers, in which they turn and by which the weight of the vehicle is transmitted to the wheels. thumb|300px|Railway wheels in a cemetery of trains with [[Uyuni]], [[Bolivia]]
Coil cast solid
The wheel known as cast solid consists of three parts:-
the rim in contact with the rail via its profile of conical bearing which ensures the role of differential in curve;
- the hub by laquel the wheel is hooped, i.e. gone up forces some on essieu-axe;
- the fabric of the wheel which ensures the junction between the rim and the hub. The shape of the fabric makes it possible the wheel to support the mechanical load as well as the thermal loads related to braking, mainly by shoes on the rim. The fabric must allow of share its geometry to avoid the hot deformations during brakings and residual when the part cools.
Coil with binding
One generally speaks in the profession about bandagées wheels, consisted of a steel center generally and a binding, always out of steel, hooped on the center and blocked by a agraphe.
