Rahmah bin Jabir Al-Jalahimah
Rahmah bin Jabir Al-Jalahimah (in Arab: رحمةبنجابربنعتبةالجلهميأوالجلاهمة), born in 1760? and died in 1826, was notable and Pirate Persian Gulf. Its first name means pity in Arabic.
It starts by forming an alliance with the first kingdom Saoudi, and built the fort of Dammam in 1809. In 1816, it is combined with the leaders of Muscat (Oman), forsaking the Saoudis, which will not fail to create tensions. By revenge, they destroy the fort of Dammam, forcing Rahmah to leave for Khor Hassan to the Qatar. It attacks then convoys of tribe Al-Utoob (العتوب its own tribe with which he is in conflict), convoys coming from the kingdom of Bahrain like all the convoys of the family Al-Khalifah , reigning on the kingdom since 40 years. It thus forges a reputation of violent gangster and without fear.
He dies on board his ship, Al-Ghatroushah , during a naval battle: he sets fire to the powder barrels and awaits the explosion with his son, preferring to die rather than to be captured.
