Rahling

Rahling ( German Rahlingen in ) is a common French, located in the department of the the Moselle and the area Lorraine. The Village belongs to the Regional natural park of the Vosges of North and of the basin of life of the Moselle-is.

Geography

Located over large the Road of Saar-Union at Bitche, in country discovered, the large Village of Rahling is spread out with the Carrefour Route S of Montbronn to Schmittviller and of Butten, with the doors of the uneven Alsace.

History

The prosperity of the Village, more populated county of Bitche at the 18th century, is explained by the richness of sound Terroir, favourable with the culture of the Céréale S and with the Viticulture. Many a craftsmen carried on their activities in the Village at the 18th century and 19th century, among which tailors of stone and sculptors, which one finds the Outil S represented on several lintel X of carries and whose work S are still preserved at Rahling and in some Village S neighbors.

Worships

The Village is old a Paroisse of the archpriest of Bouquenom, last in 1802 in that of Rohrbach-lès-Bitche, with Schmittviller like appendix until in 1837. The church, dedicated to holy Christophe, is rebuilt first once in 1595, under the Curé Jacques Pistor. From this time, there remains the base of the turn-bell-tower and the stone of foundation deposited.

Demography

The Population increases considerably until the middle of the 19th century, passing from 919 inhabitants in 1801 at 1382 in 1851. Since the beginning of the 20th century, it is stationary and counts 793 more inhabitants with the Recensement of 1999.
