Rahbe

Rahbe (Arab: رحبة) is a village of Akkar, the area more in North of the Lebanon. It is located at 50km Tripoli. It is spread out around an extinct volcano, which is frequent in Akkar. The village is very large and counts 20.000 inhabitants but one cannot speak about city because there is neither real trade nor industry. During the civil war, the sunnites for the majority left the city, one counts 500 Moslems today. In 2004, vestiges of VIIIe century were discovered.

During the israélo-Lebanese Conflict of 2006, Rahbe accommodated populations easy of the South-Lebanon.
