Rage Against The Machine
Rage Against the Machine ( alias Rage or RATM) is a group of fusion mixing the rock'n'roll, the Rap and the Funk, originating in the the United States formed in 1990 by Tom Morello and Zack of Rocha. With the arrival of Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk, the group will mark the Années 1990 until its dissolution in 2000. The group reforms in January 2007 for the festival of Coachella is one year before the American presidential elections.

History
Birth
The origins of RATM go up at the time where Zack of Rocha and Tim Commerford went to school. It meet and become friendly when the first learns with the other how to fly of food to the canteen. 1991-1992: Beginnings

Two albums homages left after dissolution the group: Freedom: In Tribute to Rage Against the Machine (a Spanish version also exists) in 2001 and has Tribute to Rage Against the Machine carried out by various musicians in 2003.
Collaborations

on January 20th, 1997, Rage gives a concert named “Radio operator Free L.A.”, with Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. During this concert, new versions of some songs of Evil Empire are played.

In 1998, Tom Morello (the guitarist) collaborates with musicians like Primus, it took part in the album Antipop, Liam Howlett of The Prodigy, Henry Rollins, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Cypress Hill or The Indigo Girls, while the remainder of the group works with artists like Snoop Dogg, and that Zack sings with KRS-One and Last Emperor for a compilation hip-hop entitled Lyricist' S Lounge .

the group contributes to some film original soundtracks, with No Shelter in Godzilla , Darkness (an old demonstration) in The Crow , as Year off the Boomerang (song which will be included later in Evil Empire ), in the film Higher Learning .

In 1999, the group plays at the time of several important festivals, like those of Woodstock, The Fuji Festival (with the Japan), as well as Tibetan Freedom Concert. Rage also organizes a concert with the profit of Mumia Abu-Jamal, with the Beastie Boys. This concert does much noise in the media.

the same year, RATM takes part in the original soundtrack of the film Matrix by posing the title Wake Up with the credits of the work of the Frères Wachowski. This participation makes known the group near the fans of the culture Cyberpunk which the film touches. The producing will not hesitate to use other titles of Rage Against The Machine in the two continuations of film.
