Rafig Tullou

Raffig Tullou (Raphaël, Jean), alias Neven Lewarc' H (January 6th 1909, Mordelles - January 16th 1990 Saint-Herblain), sculptor, decorator, Breton sculptor.

Artist

He variously followed his occupation as well in the regional movable art of Rennes as in the traditional styles; modern creator of furniture celto-Breton, at a certain time; Sculptor on stone or wood-carver; restoration of the classified buildings. One owes him the statue of Nominoë to Bath-on-Oust, and the commemorative plaque of the marquis de Pontcallec, place of Bouffay, with Nantes. He is member of the Breton artistic movement Seiz Breur.

Neo-druidism

It turns to druidic studies and founds with Morvan Marchal, Francis Bayer of Kern, the review Nemeton, and founds in 1936 Kredenn Geltiek Hollvedel (“world Celtic Belief”) or Kevanvod Tud Donn (Parliament of people of the Dêua Anna). It is the néo-druid founder of Kad bulletin of studies and druidic philosophy, become Ialon .

Course

In 1934, it joined the Breton federalistic Mouvement, with Gestalen, Francis Bayer of Kern, Goulven Mazéas and Morvan Marchal. He is collaborator of the Breton Hour during the Second world war. He was last General secretary of Unvaniez Seiz Breur in 1944. He is the founder of Koun Breizh (“To remember Breton”) in 1954, Société traditional and cultural, defense of the artistic inheritance, promotion of Breton administrative structures; founded Skoed (“the Shield”) in 1966, like official body of the Breton Souvenir .
