Raffaele de Ferrari
The marquis Raffaele de Ferrari (1808 - 1876), prince de Lucedio (1861) and duke of Galliera (1837), was an Italian financial business man and, founder of the Real estate credit of France with the brothers Pereire, rivals of the Rothschild.
Biography
Resulting from an big family gĂȘnoise, Raffaele de Ferrari marries in 1828 Maria of Brignole-Dirty (1812 - 1888). The couple has three children:

Livia (1828-1829);
- Andrea (1831-1847);
- Philippe (1850-1917), eccentric collector of postage stamp, which, with died of his/her father, will refuse to inherit its fortune and the title of duke to which it could claim.
In 1861, it acquired the principality of Lucedio and accepted the title of prince de Lucedio of the king Victor-Emmanuel II. It had been created duke of Galliera by the Pope Gregoire XVI in 1837.
The duke of Galliera was the principal manufacturer of the railroads of High Italy and the Paris-Lyon-Mediterranean line. He carried out operations of roadway system in Paris and was one of the founders of the Loan on personal property with the Pereire brothers.
