Rafael Vidal

Rafael Vidal (January 6th 1964 with Caracas - February 12th 2005 in Caracas) was a swimmer Venezuelan.

True idol of the sport in Venezuela, Rafael Vidal owes its notoriety with the conquest of the first Olympic medal of Venezuela in swimming. Vidal was then 19 years old when it gains the bronze medal with the Olympic Games in 1984 out of 200 meters butterfly.

The career of the swimmer turns short, and a year after its Olympic conquest, Vidal gives up the high level sport to be devoted to its academic works with the the United States then in the media Venezuelans.

Rafael Vidal finds death on February 12th, 2005 in a road accident.
