Radu Mihaileanu
Radu Mihaileanu is a Réalisateur and Scénariste French of Rumanian origin born the April 23rd 1958 with Bucharest.
Wire of a Jewish journalist, it leaves Romania in 1980 during the dictatorship of Ceauşescu to take refuge in France where it studies the cinema with IDHEC then exerts the trade of assistant realizer during the Années 1980, in particular near Marco Ferreri with which it collaborates then in the adaptation of the dialog of Plato for the telefilm the Banquet in 1989.
In 1993, leaves Trahir , its first feature-length film as a realizer, of which it Co-writing also the scenario. The film profits from warm welcome criticizes and obtains several prices in festivals (Montreal, Istanbul…). After the realization of a first telefilm in 1997 for M6 ( Hello Antoine ), Radu Mihaileanu signs its second feature-length film, Way of life . The film obtains an international success, in particular thanks to two prices gained during the prestigious Festival of Venice in 1998. Whereas a project of black film made in English does not succeed, Mihaileanu agrees to turn another telefilm, the Pygmies of Carlo , this time diffused on Arte in 2002. After the meeting with immigrants Ethiopia NS in Israel, it launch out then in a vast company which will end in 2005 with Va, screw and become , which will devote it César better original screenplay the following year, after also of the prices glanés during the Berlinale 2005.
It also published a collection of poems in 1987, entitled a wave in sea sickness .
