Radovanje
Radovanje , in Serb Cyrillic Радовање, is a village of Serbia located in the municipality of Velika Plana, district of Podunavlje. In 2002, it counted 689 inhabitants.
Đorđe Petrović, in French Karageorges, the chief of the First Serb revolt against the Turks, died in Radovanje the July 24th 1817, assassinated on the order of its rival Miloš Obrenović. A church, dedicated to the Holy archangel Gabriel, was built in 1930 at the place where he was assassinated. Built in the Byzantine style, it preserves its portrait painted by the famous realistic painter Paja Jovanović
The place where Karageorges was buried is announced by a cross and a commemorative plaque.
The whole of the sector, called Radovanjski Lug, in Serb Cyrillic РадовањскиЛуг, the " wood of Radovanje" , a surface of 46 hectares covers. It is protected because of its environmental richness and its historical value.
