Radio operator Rumantsch

Radio Rumantsch ( RR ) is the radio Swiss public general practitioner in romanche of the Radio E Televisiun Rumantscha for Rhaeto-Romanic Switzerland .

History of the RR

January 17th 1925 is diffused the first radio program in romanche under the responsibility of Felix Huonder. From 1943, the first regular emissions in romanche are diffused each Friday of the month.

Radio Rumantsch is created in 1954 when begins its first radio programs for the canton of the Grisons. Tired Cristallas , the " radioscola" romanche (readings of texts in romanche to the radio to learn the language), is diffused for the first time on January 27th 1955 to commemorate the 25e birthday of the vote of 1938 making romanche the fourth Swiss national language.

Following the reorganization of the SR in 1991, Radio Rumantsch becomes an autonomous unit of company. It is joined in 1995 by Televisiun Rumantscha, which has just separated from Schweizer Fernsehen DRS, to form the Radio E Televisiun Rumantscha.

The administrative head office of the RR is located at Coire. The radio also has offices with Savognin, Glion, Scuol, Müstair, Samedan and Bern.

The RR depends at 100% on RTR.

Diffusion

Radio Rumantsch is diffused in FM in the canton of the Grisons and on all the Swiss territory, but also by satellite on all Europe. Its market share in Rhaeto-Romanic Switzerland is of 14,4%.

Program

Radio Rumantsch emits in romanche 14 hours per day of the morning at 6 a.m. at the evening at 9 p.m. The night, it takes again the emissions of DRS 3 and DRS 1.

Intended for many people, this station proposes a program general practitioner with entertainment, information (of the room to international), sports columns, the whole together with a very rich musical pallet (varieties, tubes, folk music, oldies). RR grants a broad place to the local music, since the music of chorus until the rock'n'roll, while passing by the arm band and the pop one, as many often diffused kinds of exclusiveness.

Its programs are composed of productions house (approximately 1:30), of bought productions (approximately 3:30) and of recoveries (approximately 185h).
