Radio operator One
Radio One is certainly one of the greatest successes of the era Alan Douglas. It is a compilation of the recordings carried out by the Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1967 on behalf of the BBC, which did not devote less than five of its programs to the group. Since the Fifties, the English radio had taken the practice not to pass the official versions of the groups to which it devoted its programs, preferring to them recordings carried out under conditions close to the Live in its studios. The vocal parts were indeed often recorded in overdubs .
The Experiment was not satisfied with rejouer the compositions on which it planchait in similar versions: a good part of the material presented here was quite simply new official repertory. The integrality of this collection initially published into 1988 is found from now on on the BBC Sessions published 10 years later per Experience Hendrix LLC. Radio One is less complete (3 faces!), but denser: it was the ideal album to discover Jimi Hendrix Experience!
