Radio operator Bemba

Radio Bemba Sound System is the group of the singer Manu Chao, one finds Gambeat with low there, Madjid Fahem with the guitar (solo) member of happy Kinky, David (Burgundian), with the percussions and the battery. This part of the group, rather stable, corresponds to musicians of the new music scene inhabitant of Barcelona suitable for the music " mestiza" (metized).

The remainder of the musicians with tendency to varying much, thus, Roy Paci, the talented trompetist sicilian has fact left the group, just like energetic B-Roy with the accordion, where still the percussionnist and beater Gerald Casajús alias Chalart58 and the young singer rasta Bidji, from now on more known under the pseudonym of Lyricson.

In 2006, was in particular present at the percussions, Garbancito alias Philippe Teboul, ex-member of famous the Mano Negra and Dammy alias David Baluteau, with the keyboard, member of the French rock group Phaze.

" Radio operator Bemba" was the name given by the cuban revolutionists to the system of the " stop with oreille" (or " telephone arabe").

Radio Bemba appeared about 1994 when the Mano Negra was not complete any more and that it did not represent really any more the group since it quasi totality of the members had left it after very testing crossed Colombia in the train. Ramon Chao, the father of Manu Chao told this incredible tour in its book (from now on exhausted), a train of ice and fire .

Since, the group did not cease giving concerts throughout the world all while being essential a particular rhythm of life. Each musician with his private life and musical apart from the group, the rounds last only a few months and at the end of each one of enters they, the group separates and each one returns to be occupied with its way. This rate/rhythm makes it possible each musicians to be present at 100% at the time of the rounds and ressourcer as it wishes it apart from its rounds very testing.

This operation is surely at the base of the success of this group which each time gives very survotlés very long concerts but always, interfering a variety sounds always also impressive, which it is Punk, Ska, Rock, Reggae, Dub, South American ballades or Ragga…
