Radio enumeration
The enumeration radio is a technique of radio communication. The radio transmissions are frequently subjected to parasites and Interférence S. It is thus sometimes necessary to transmit the numbers by enumerating the figures one by one. To avoid confusions, one joins an operation with the figure.
We present here the enumeration used by the first-aid workers and firemen French.
The general rule is the following one: if N is the figure
- for the even figures, one joins twice “ like N /2”, for example “ four like twice two ”
- for the odd figures, one joins “ like ( N +1) /2 and ( N -1) /2”, for example “ five like three and two ”
Count of enumeration
Example: “ the victim has a pulse with a hundred and twenty, I enumerate: a whole alone, two like one and one, zero ”.
Schedule groups and group dates
One systematically uses the hour on 24:00, i.e. 06:00 indicates six hours of the morning, and 18:00 indicates six hours of the evening. To transmit the hour, one removes “H” and one reads the result like only one number; one calls this the time group . The time group thus lies between 0 (zero, for midnight) and 2 359 (two thousand three hundred and fifty-nine, for 23:59).
Same manner, one transmits the date by joining the number of the day and the month and reading the result jjmm like only one number; it is the group dates .
In particular, when message is relayed of operator radio operator towards another (i.e. the final recipient of the message is not directly with listening), one always transmits the group dates and the time group from the emission of the message of origin.
the groups schedule and date are in general not enumerated, except accident of transmission.
Example of heading of formal message:
- “ Transmitting: Merlin Châtelaillon - Recipient: Northern Gareth - Group dates two hundred and five - time Group thousand three hundred and ten - Message: …”
