Radio French-speaking Switzerland

Radio French-speaking Switzerland (RSR) is a unit of Entreprise of the public audio-visual group Suisse SRG Swiss SR idea. It is the broadcaster of public service in French-speaking Switzerland.

History

  • 1922 Inauguration of the station of TSF of Field-in-the Air with Lausanne: the inaugural banquet gives place to the first true emission.
  • 1923 International airport of Geneva, a transmitter is brought into service, and makes it possible to carry out first tests of public emissions.
  • 1925 First emission with Geneva starting from the studio of the Hotel Metropolis.
  • 1928 First retransmission of a mass catholic-Roman.
  • 1931 Inauguration of the Swiss national Transmitter of Sottens.
  • 1931 the Swiss telegraphic Agence (ATS) becomes the exclusive supplier of the news diffused by radio Switzerland.
  • 1935 Inauguration of the House of the Radio with Sallaz, above Lausanne.
  • 1935 Angèle Golay launches “the preferred Disc of the listener”.
  • 1936 “Microphone-Magazine”, proposed by Radio-Geneva, is the first emission of topicality.
  • 1939 Creation of the troop of the Radio-Theater.
  • 1940 Inauguration of the House of Radio operator to the Carl-Vogt boulevard with Geneva.
  • 1941 Appearance, in the grid of the programs, the “Samuel Knight, Fifteen minutes of Vaud”.
  • 1943 Radio-Lausanne presents “the Mirror of time”, of Benjamin Romieux.
  • 1946 Radio-Lausanne launches the Chaîne of Happiness, emission of mutual aid, created by Roger Nordmann and Jack Rollan.
  • 1946 First of “Enigmas and adventures”, detective series of Marcel de Carlini and Georges Hoffmann proposed by Radio-Geneva (thereafter, Isabelle Villars and Jacques Bron will also write episodes of the adventures of the detective Roland Durtal, of its Welsh police chief and henchman Picoche,).
  • 1951 “the Yellow jersey of the song”, a contest of varieties, appears with the antenna.
  • 1954 Creation of “Discanalyse” by Raymond Colbert.
  • 1956 Birth of the second program of the Radio French-speaking Switzerland, in ultra-short waves: Space 2.
  • 1956 Creation of emissions choral societies, such as Art Choral, animated by Andre Charlet.
  • 1979 Beginning of the emissions in stereophony.
  • 1982 a third program is launched by the Radio French-speaking Switzerland for its young public: Color 3.
  • 1994 the Radio French-speaking Switzerland launches a fourth program, on medium waves: Option Music.
  • 1994 Creation of the religious Emissions of the RSR, in partnership with the catholic Center of Radio and Television and the protesting Office of the media.

Frequencies

  • OM 765 Khz Option Music: Receives itself correctly on this frequency the night between 18:00 and 7:00 in Paris region.
By 2008, the diffusion on medium waves will be stopped. It will continue on the cable, satellite, DAB and in MF. The Swiss SR Idea already prevented that no important repair will be carried out on transmitter OM of Sottens, in the event of serious damage.
