Radagaise
Radagaise or Radogast is a barbarian chief pagan of Gothic origin .
To the head of a many heteroclite army made up between-others of Goths, of Vandals, Alamans and Alains, it enters in force in Italy to the beginning of the year 406, sweeping frontier defenses, and makes many plunderings and massacres in the plain of the Po. Moving towards the south, it is stopped close to Florence by the Roman general Stilicon and is severely beaten with Fiesole. Its army, weakened by the famine and lack space to fight and/or beat a retreat, is exterminated mainly, the enlisted remainder of force in the Roman army; Radagaise is captured and carried out with the main leaders (August 406).
