Racibor Ier

Racibor Ier (in Polish Racibor I ) was born about the year 1112 and deceased towards 1155/1158. It reigned on the Western Poméranie. It succeeded his brother Warcisław I {{er}} of Poméranie, assassinated towards 1147.

Before going up on the throne, Racibor resided at Kamień Pomorski, from where it regularly launched attacks against the Denmark, the Sweden and the Norway. In 1135, it ran the Danish fleet off the island of Rügen and it completely destroyed Roskilde, the capital of the Danes. Two Scandinavian chronicles (Yearly Yearly Nestredienses and Sorami) report these facts. In 1136, with its nephew Dunimysł, it plundered the town of Konghelle.

When it succeeded his brother, it settled in the capital Szczecin from where it continued to regularly carry out incursions and plunderings in Scandinavia, while maintaining good relationships with the Poland.

In 1155, it based the Abbaye Prémontrés of Grobe, on the island of Usedom. With its death, they are the wire of Warcisław Ier de Poméranie, Bogusław and Casimir, which succeeded to him.
