Rabad II

Abraham Ben Itzhak de Narbonne or of Lunel, more known in the Judaïsme under its acronym of R abbenou Abraham Ben Itzhak has v B and D in, known as Rabad II (or Raabad II), was a Rabbin and kabbalist, author of the " HaEshkol". Born with Montpellier in 1110, it died in Narbonne in 1179

It carries out its studies under the supervision of Rav Ytzhak Ben Mervan Halevi in Narbonne, then of Rav Yehouda of Barcelona. On its return to Narbonne, it is named chief of the rabbinical court (AV Study Bureau DIN, from where its nickname).

It directs the Yeshiva of Narbonne, where it will have as pupils Rabad III, which will become his/her son-in-law, and Rav Zera' hia ha-Levi of Gérone. Its ideas will also influence the Ramban and RaN. He wrote Sefer ha-Eshkol, as well as comments talmudic and responsa.

He also passes to receive frequent visits of the prophet Elie who reveals to him the teaching of the Kabbale
