Geography
The source of the Raam is located in the north of the Peel, in the south-east of Sint Anthonis. It passes then towards the North-East, until Rijkevoort, then the North-West, while passing between Haps, Sint Hubert and Mill, then it crosses Escharen to throw itself in the Meuse by the Pumping station Van Sasse with Grave.Raam, which kept its sinuous course partly crosses a landscape of Bocage. The last part of Raam is in the landscape of the uiterwaarden of the Maasheggen, close to Keent.
Outfall of Beers
Formerly, during the risings of the Meuse, the water of flood followed starting from the Déversoir of Beers the valley of Raam and continued then in the basin of the Hertogswetering to join the Meuse with height of Wood-the-Duke. Thus, the valley of Raam was a section of this Traverse of Beersche Maas .
Connections
With Serious, Raam is connected to the Hertogswetering, biological Corridor between the Pays of Low register in the east and Wood-the-Duke in the west.Photograph gallery
